SPAM!

What is it with all these spammers?  I have been spending good time deleting obnoxious, and outright lewd comments from anonymous posters lately and I've had enough. If you are a legitimate reader and post anonymously, I am sorry but to post from now on you'll have to register.
What's the point of all this spamming?  They always end with visit my blog or website and really, who would  really visit after reading absolutely irrelevant and off topic, obnoxious comments?

  1. Me too! I so understand!!!! And I don't get it, either.

  2. I've experienced it too. Much of it seems to come from overseas. They hacked my password and sent hundreds of porn pictures. I had to change my password to get rid of it. It's the world we live in, where we can be invaded easily.

  3. I can understand your irritation over this. The spam filter with blogspot works pretty good, but they still creep through at times. I think a lot of bloggers have turned off anonymous; why does anyone want to be anonymous except to write irritating comments.

  4. Yep, lots of us have been dealing with this recently. Some people just have too much time on their hands--and they choose to annoy us!

  6. Me too, me too...after I turned off anonymous, the spammers now use various names...

    1. It's true that the spammers use names, once I turned off anonymous, but the flood of 30-40 spam comments per DAY turned into a trickle of 3-4 spam comments per WEEK. Much more tolerable.

  7. Goes over my head. That said, I do feel your pain, as in what a pain in the butt it is. Good move on stopping the Anons.

  8. I was getting a lot of crap on my tiny pathetic excuse for a blog, I can only imagine how much you were getting. I think blocking anonymous is the least annoying way to deal with it. The captcha stuff is just too annoying. Now I am off to change my passwords to something unintelligible.

  9. Amen - I hear ya! I just don't get it.....if there was a lot of $$$$ involved that's one thing, but just to heckle for the sake of doing it, what's the purpose? It's an exercise in futility just to cause others to have to spend more time cleaning out their inbox. I just don't get it.

  10. I tend to get lots of spam comments from commercial sites. I simply delete the posts.

  11. I agree! I thought it was only my blog, and that I was doing something to attract them. I guess if we have a good blog and people enjoy reading our posts, then along comes the SPAM.
